MT Bouvier Des Flandres
Our Story
Just a Montana, mountain gal with a desire to restore a breed.
As a ranch woman, when the time came to look for a new herding dog, I knew what I wanted was something that wasn't common. I wanted a ranch dog that could be quick and hard-working in the field and a lazy, yet, protective couch potato in the house. I also wanted a dog that would be good with other people and that didn’t shed much, as I wanted to also have them accompany me to my therapy office where I feel animals can play a large part in healing.
After searching, I found a well-kept secret breed that checked all those boxes, and more - Bouvier des Flandres.
Bouviers are not as common as other herding breeds, but the composition of their personality makes them the perfect fit not only in the field, with their quick wit and less aggressive response with the cattle than some other herding breeds, but also their genuine, loving, docile side with my clients in my office and guests at my home.
I’m excited to be here to help spread the word on their exceptional personalities and why they would be the perfect fit for your home, or your ranch.
